Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Jason Young, founder of Overline.
We specialise in UK telecommunications and office technology, helping businesses stay connected, communicate effectively, and keep their systems running reliably behind the scenes.
When did Overline begin?
Overline was founded in 1994, which means we have been working in the technology space for over three decades.
It has been an incredible journey watching the industry evolve, and adaptability has always been central to how we operate.
What has helped the business stay successful for so long?
Flexibility has been key.
Technology constantly changes, so standing still is never an option. We have continually evolved our services and product range to reflect what businesses genuinely need. Having a strong and knowledgeable team around me has also played a huge role in that longevity.
What makes Overline stand out?
Our track record and the variety of projects we deliver.
We support organisations of all sizes, from SMEs and local authorities through to large scale venues such as football stadiums. That breadth of experience builds trust because clients know we can handle both straightforward installations and more complex infrastructure projects.
Can you tell us about a memorable project?
One of our standout projects was delivering a full fibre installation at the AMEX Stadium.
We managed the work from the early groundwork through to completion. It was a major project and a proud moment for the entire team. The relationship developed further afterwards, eventually leading to an official sponsorship, which was a fantastic outcome.
Any particularly memorable moments along the way?
Hosting Boris Johnson when he was London Mayor is certainly one that stands out.
It was not your average day at work, but definitely a memorable experience.
What philosophy shapes your approach to technology?
We strongly believe communications technology should prepare businesses for the future, not just address immediate challenges.
That means helping clients invest in the right mix of next generation solutions in sensible, scalable steps. The aim is always to create productive and agile working environments that support long term growth rather than short term fixes.
Has being based at Freedom Works made a difference?
Definitely.
Being surrounded by other businesses creates natural opportunities for conversations, shared knowledge, and new connections. It is a far more dynamic and engaging environment than a traditional isolated office.
Freedom Works provides a professional base while also allowing us to scale comfortably as our team continues to grow. That balance has been incredibly valuable for the business.
What is new for Overline?
We have recently launched our own hosted platform, which is something we are very excited about.
It integrates voice and video calling alongside more than 40 features designed to improve how businesses communicate. It is a significant step forward for us and for our clients.
